The Haplo Research Manager suite manages the entire research lifecycle at universities, from project inception, applying for grants, ethical approval, Postgraduate Research programme administration, and publication of information about researchers and their research on the web. Our products streamline processes and save time — enabling researchers to focus on research rather than administration. They help to protect universities by ensuring good research governance, and enable institutions to compete more effectively for research funding.

About you

You’re a generalist developer who has done a bit of everything. We’re open minded about your experience. You'll have:

• Strong technical experience, having spent a large part of your career writing software and being part of development teams.
• Proven ability with JavaScript. We primarily use server-side JavaScript, with underlying layers written in JRuby and Java, but we don't mind if you haven't used these languages before.
• Wide experience writing web applications, and have kept your skills up to date as technology has evolved.
• A good degree in any subject (our clients are universities, so our team need to understand what they’re like).
• Excellent communication skills, including written English.
• Enough practical experience of all levels of the stack to lead engineering and be able to find technical solutions, across both back end and front end development.
• Experience with integration with other systems, both legacy and modern web APIs. Understanding likely data issues when linking systems together.
• A strong commitment to code quality and understand why it’s critical to ensuring quality throughout the development process.

You’ll be working in a spacious, light-filled office in a new business development in Brockley. We believe in good coffee, sensible working hours, and valuing the contribution of every member of the team.
